Cattle Tag Replacements

Most official Shearwell cattle tags are replaced free of charge for the life of the animal providing they have been inserted with the correct applicator. Only Shearwell tags qualify for free replacements, we do not replace any other tag manufacturers tags free of charge.

Shearwell tags that qualify are:

• Large plastic tags - Combi large
• Medium plastic tags - Combi medium
• Small plastic tags - Combi small
• BVD / TST tags - Large TST and button TST - replaced with a standard plastic tag

Exceptions to this are as follows and these do not qualify for free replacements:

• Metal tags
• EID tags
• Standard button tags
• Management tags

Postage will be charged for all replacements even if the tag is free.

Sheep Tag Replacements

• You will qualify for free official SET tag replacements if:
  1. You have purchased at least 200 SET tags from Shearwell in the last 12 months - this 200 tag lower limit includes slaughter tags and breeding pairs.
  2. And if the original tag was a SET tag issued by Shearwell.
• The free replacement only applies to UK breeding tags - i.e., tags lost from official breeding pairs used for animals intended to live past 12 months of age. Slaughter tags do not qualify for free replacements.
• If you qualify, we will replace EID SET tags and visual SET tags free of charge.
• If you qualify, we will replace any SET tag that has been supplied by Shearwell at any point - even if the tag was supplied to a different holding or was originally supplied over 12 months ago.
• We do not replace any other type of sheep tag free of charge.
• Management tags do not qualify for free replacements.

Postage will be charged for all replacements even if the tag is free.
